Congratulations to Immediate Past President, Dr. Renee Fennell, for receiving the 2021 PDA Public Service Award!

The criteria for this distinguished award are as follows: The Annual Awards Committee may select for the PDA Public Service Award an individual or group (ADA/PDA dentist or non-dentist) who has brought national recognition to Pennsylvania through personal activities, actions or contributions that have improved the oral health of the public. The Annual Awards Committee may select an individual who, in its judgment, has led an effort to pass major legislation for the protection and enhancement of the oral health of citizens of Pennsylvania; or has led a regional, statewide or international access to dental care effort for under-served populations; or has played a leading role and personally made a significant contribution in education of the public regarding the importance of good oral health; or has contributed significantly to community and/or charitable service.
Dr. Fennell's actions to support the MOM-n-PA free dental clinic and her advocacy efforts to keep dental offices open during the pandemic were determined by the PDA to have "improved the oral health of the public." Please join us in congratulating Dr. Fennell on this prestigious award!

Congratulations to PCDS Board of Governor, Dr. Allison Rascon on winning the Best Oral Clinical Award at the Academy of Osseointegration Annual Meeting in San Diego!



Dr. Rascon won this award for her research: The Clinical Effects of rh-PDGF and Particulate Bone Graft on Regeneration in Peri-Implantitis. She had to submit an abstract and was 1 of 7 selected out of 140. She then presented for 15 minutes and was selected as the winner! Congratulations Dr. Rascon!


Philadelphia County Dental Society received the Platinum PDA Presidential Citation!

PDA Presidential Citation

The PDA Presidential Citation recognizes district and local societies that support PDA's 2020-2023 Strategic Plan by completing certain activities. In order to receive the Platinum Award, the local district must complete all specified goals in each category. The goals are as follows: Provide Value Offerings that are Member-Focused (3 activities), Increase Membership Engagement (3 activities), Maintain End-of-Year Membership Numbers (2 activities), Increase Leadership Development & Engagement (2 activities). The Philadelphia County Dental Society met all specified goals in each category and received the Platinum PDA Presidential Citation Award.
