Why is PCDS hosting a Diversity & Inclusion Event?

PCDS prides itself on being inclusive and our Board of Governors and Committee leaders are extremely diverse. It's not a one size fits all package and we are aware that our members may be treating patients of all types of ethnicities and backgrounds. We feel it is important to educate our members on different cultures so that they are better equipped to care for the wide array of patients they may see. After all, our district is located in the city of "Brotherly Love!" We plan on hosting a 4 series event for 2024 and our first dinner will highlight Greek Culture. Stay tuned for details on the upcoming dinners and cultures for 2024.

Where/When is this dinner being held?

At Estia an authentic Greek Restaurant located at 1405-07 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102 on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

 

How much is Registration and What is Included?

Registration is $40.00 - PCDS Member, $50.00 - ADA/PDA Member, $15.00 - Residents and $5.00 - Dental Students and it includes Appetizers, Entrée, Dessert and 2 CE Credits through AGD/PACE.

What is on the menu?

Starter: Hummus & Bread
Mezedes/Appetizers: 
Spread Pikilia (traditional Greek spreads including tzatziki, melitzano and htpiti, served with grilled pita)
Spanakopita (fresh spinach, leeks, scallions and feta cheese wrapped in homemade phyllo dough brushed with extra virgin olive oil and baked.
Salata/Salad: 
Romaine Salata (hearts of romaine are tossed in creamy caper dill dressing and crumbled feta cheese topped with oregano croutons and shredded keflograviera)
Entrées: 
Organic Roasted Chicken (organic chicken roasted served over caramelized onion and yogurt orzo with a lemon thyme jus
Pasta A La Grecca (rigatoni sauteed with spinach, oven roasted tomato and feta cheese)
Dessert: 
Karidopita (honey walnut cake)
Coffee and Tea

*There will be no alcoholic beverages, only water and iced tea.

Can I come for the Course and not eat?

Yes, if you would like to come and just attend the course and obtain your CE Credits, please email Lisa Gottlieb at lgottlieb@philcodent.org and she can arrange that. Fee to just attend the course would be $10.00. 

What is the attire?

Business casual.

How many CE Credits and when will I received my Certificate?

If you attend the full course (from 6:45 pm through 9:00 p.m.) you will receive 2 CE Credits through AGD/PACE Course Codes  610 Fixed Prosthodontics and 558 Diversity Inclusion/Cultural Competence. Certificates will be emailed within 2 weeks from the date of the course.

How Do I Register and Pay?

You can Register here. There will be information in the Registration on how to make a secure payment. We accept payment via Check, Credit Card (secure online through Square) and Venmo.
